Every monitor technology is a compromise — except OLED, which mostly isn’t. The LG 27GX700A-B is a 27-inch 1440p OLED panel refreshing at 280Hz, and it’s the closest thing to a perfect gaming display you can buy.
Perfect blacks: each pixel makes its own light, so black is truly black — horror games, space sims, and night scenes gain a depth LCD physically cannot produce. Near-instant response: OLED pixels switch fast enough that motion blur effectively disappears, making 280Hz feel even faster than the number suggests. And the colors? Vivid, accurate, stunning.
Yes, $450 is real money. And yes, OLED demands minor care (vary your content, let pixel-refresh run). But prices have fallen dramatically — this level of display was $900+ not long ago. For the enthusiast who wants the best and keeps monitors for years, the cost-per-year math works. This is the monitor you buy when you’re done compromising. The endgame.
