Quantum dot is the secret behind the best-looking displays in TVs, and MSI brought it to a sub-$300 gaming monitor. The G274QPF-QD layers quantum dot film over a 27-inch 1440p Rapid IPS panel running at 170Hz, and the result is color that pops off the screen — wide gamut, saturated, alive.
This is the monitor for gamers who notice visuals. Open-world games, RPGs, anything with art direction worth savoring — the QD panel renders them with a richness standard monitors can’t match. And it’s still a proper gaming screen: 170Hz, 1ms-class response, adaptive sync for tear-free play. MSI’s gaming OSD is genuinely useful here, with crosshair overlays, night-vision modes, and per-game profiles that competitive players actually use.
The stand offers full ergonomic adjustment, which matters for long sessions. At around $290, you’re paying a small premium over basic 1440p 165Hz monitors — and getting visibly better color in return. If image quality is your priority and you game across genres, the G274QPF-QD is the 1440p monitor to beat.
